Ahm, I'm using Eudora 6.1.2 and in comparison to Outlook it doesn't have
the feature bloat, script enabledness and HTML stuff. Compared to version 5
it has some more features added, but IMHO those were nice additions such as
Junk Mail Filter and spellchecker. I didn't even look at any other MUA just
because it basically is not capable of processing the HTML laden messages.
It shows some text and pretty much reduces any embedded image into a flat
line or a chop job thumbnail. Of course, that is a bug, but I actually like
    this one.
I have no idea who ever thought that HTML content in an email is a good
idea except for working hyperlinks, which I think are nice when working on
a GUI desktop. Saves copying and pasting and thus work. Also, I received
once in a while infected emails and due to Eudora' inability to handle this
the evil payload never had a chance and got gobbled up by the RTVS.
Is Eudora the dream MUA? Defenitely not, there is still room for
improvement. Also, I did not upgrade to the latest major release as version
6 does everything I want from a MUA with a GUI. And it not being so popular
anymore is a good thing since it doesn't end up being a prime target for
trojans, worms, viruses or whatever else. And on top of that, even my
parents and my brother can figure this thing out although they neither
understand english or are what I'd call overly computer literate. Anything
else in the Windope world caused them grief, but never Eudora. I also keep
it running 24x7 and have my mail checked automatically every two hours,
which is really nice when I'm away from home. And now with open sourcing it
and having some established community taking it on I really expect this one
to be an awesome MUA that finally gets ported to Linux.

I know, I know, you may know of 345345 email clients that do exactly the
same and I did try 345344 of them and they all sucked in one way or the
other. And what I reallly hope will happen is that I can use the same set
of mailbox files on a dual boot machine, which shouldn't be a big problem
since the mailbox files are 99% identical to standard *nix boxes.

Now that I've outed myself as Eudora fan I am waiting for the flames to
    come in. ;)
