    The "free" Oracle DB has a limit of maximum total database size of 4
    gigabytes and you can only install once instance on a machine.  If you
    can live with this, then it might be worth checking out.
    
        It is "free" as in "free beer", not as in freedom.  You cannot see
    or modify the source code or otherwise re-distribute.
    
       I use the free Oracle DB because we use Oracle at work.  For my
    personal use, the 4 gigabyte size limit is no problem and I don't
    anticipate it will every be a real problem for myself.
