We were talking about this a bit before - a nice simple gui for updating
services that startup in ubuntu. Something to that has the same
simplicity as setup/ntsysv in redhat or yast in suse.
It's more "gui" than those - but I think "bum" (Boot Up Manager) is a
pretty good replacement. It even has some nice "human readable"
descriptions of services. Once installed, it shows up in ubuntu under
System-Administration-BootUp-Manager
One note though: the version from the dapper repositories doesn't
refresh well after applying changes. It seems this was fixed in a
newer version that is not yet in the repositories. I got the newer

Yes, it's GUI... For non-gui, I use: sysv-rc-conf, but in this case,
you need to check all boxes for runlevels 2-5 for a typical service.
