So there's Asterisk if you want to do a roll your own PBX; how about if you want to do a roll your own distributed video surveillance system? I'm talking 5 different locations w/ 4-16 cameras per location, realtime H.264 compression for centralized live viewing. Is this type of stuff doable on Linux? The wiworld seems to use stuff from here: <http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/index.asp> I'd be interested to know what kind of systems the Casinos use, since that's gotta be totally scalable.
