This reminds me of a quote I heard long ago.. slightly modified here for this purpose: "Let HTML deliver the Javascript, not the reverse." (The original was "Let Flash deliver the HTML, not the reverse") He's already using HttpRequest to do round-trip to the server, so its not a significant effort to add XMLHttpRequest objects into the mix, and get "true" real-time application access via the browser.
